INSTAGRAM is a treasure trove of creatives sharing their work & life with the world. Illustrators, painters, and multi-disciplinary amateurs, there's no end to the inspiration shared and found on that social network. Below are a few of my favorites:
Love this series of animal mask drawings by The White Deer.
Available for purchase through Society6.
I just discovered Lucrezia Bieler's sublime work through Paper Forest. Her papercuts truly are works of art and an awesome showcase of imagination and technical knowledge that comes together to create pure magic. I aspire to be that good one day. I especially love how a detailed shape emerges in gestalt from the black void in the two pieces featured here.
Lucrezia prefers the scissors (teeny tiny scissors!) to the scalpel knife), and she fearlessly snips and twists and drapes her paper until all her cuts have been made and the image emerged. I'm awestruck. When I feel that catch in the back of my throat like I want to weep is when I know I'm done for. Hello new obsession, I'm going to fangirl all over you!Links:

October is when universities begin their school year here in Israel. In honor of the drones of students starting this month, see this amazing, amazing motivational clip: pretty with a strong message. Remember that, beginners all. I wish someone told me this when I first started school. And when I graduated. And earlier this year, and... Well, it still does me good to hear them now. Words to create by & to keep on learning.

Yulia. By Tali Y.
I'm going to another happy photo shoot with Tali today. We're planning on location sets - first time I'll ever do one in Tel-Aviv. Tali already scouted locations. I still don't know what I'll wear, but I know I'll treat myself to iced coffee after:)

A tv show called Art Nation recently featured Emma van Leest. Here is the video. I agree with everything she says about papercutting. I guess it takes a type to want to do this technique again and again.

Elsita opened a brand new shop dedicated to her original papercuts! In it she offers original and ready-to-hang delicate papercut artworks in prices ranging from $100-$400, in lieu of her more expensive gallery works. She opened it 4 days ago, and it is of course already sold out, but hopefully she'll replenish the shop soon.
