My name is Naomi Shiek (pronounced CHIC).
I create papercut ketubot for private clients in the Nouveau Judaica style.

What is a ketubah, you ask? A KETUBAH is a decorative marriage covenant used and exhibited in Jewish, non-denominational and non-traditional weddings and commitment ceremonies wherein the couple's vows to each other are declared.

Emma van Leest

Emma van Leest is a papercutting god. It's a fact. I've been salivating over her work for years. If I discovered the papercutting medium through Rob Ryan, then Emma van Leest showed me its art form. Nothing is too grand, too complicated, too ambitious for Emma. The intricate nature of her work is mind blowing. I imagine if I ever see one of her artworks in person I will go into a frenzy the likes of which twelve year olds have over teen movie heartthrobs.

A tv show called Art Nation recently featured Emma van Leest. Here is the video. I agree with everything she says about papercutting. I guess it takes a type to want to do this technique again and again.
